A letter received by a
gentleman in town, dated Fishing creek, Tyler county, Va. Oct. 16,
states, that a man by the name of PATRICK WILSON, in descending the Ohio river on
the 1st ult. with some slaves, was inhumanly murdered by two
of his negroes, one of whom the deceased had purchased
of Mr. _____ Hook, of Frederick county, Maryland.
They have both since been apprehended, tried, convicted, and sentenced to suffer
death, on the 17th of November next. The writer of the letter is desirous
that publicity be given to the circumstances of the murder, that the
relatives of the deceased, who are unknown, may be informed thereof, and
attend to settling his estate. Source: Genius of Liberty,
