MeCauley on Austin Moss's middle name: Austin Digby Moss and Clara Annie McDowell's names were carved on my great-grandmother Lillian Virginia Moss Dickerson' gravestone. She was daughter of Austin and Annie Moss. Her sister Grace, I believe died at young age. They also had 2 brothers, Virgil (lived in Dallas, Texas) and Bob (lived in Palacios, Texas). My great-grandmother, Lillian was married to Cephas Conrad Dickerson, Sr. They married on April 23, 1916 in Louisiana. They had 2 kids, Lillian Virginia and Cephas Conrad Jr. My grandmother Lillian Virginia Dickerson Burgess was born in Houston, Texas on June 8, 1919. She died on December 15, 2000 in Dallas, Texas. She was married to V.N. Burgess who was born in Dallas, Texas on April 11, 1918. Unfortunately, he passed away on March 24, 2005. Adelaide L. Richardson, wife Addie and daughter Mildred on the 1910 Lynchburg, Campbell County, VA census. The census listed them as having been married 14 years and that they had had 2 children but only one surviving. Phillips research death court records (e-mail Norita Moss 6/18/03) She writes Elijah Moss found in Book 1 of 1864 page 27 line 36 "Elijah Moss , white male died August 10, 1864 of a shot in accident age 40 ( ?) report by Eliza wife ( Mahala) father Elijah Moss . He was a farmer born in Wood County" This might put Elijah's birth date in time frame from 1824 to 1826. Eliza could be Mahala Moss. Since I show records of a older Elijah Moss in 1820 , 1820 and 1840 Census records. I am going with this being our Elijah as there is no record of him after 1860 census records.
