Catherine Bergstrom
NEWCASTLE, Wyo., Oct. 31. – Catherine Bergstrom, 18-months’ old child of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Bergstrom of Clareton, died as the result of burns received when a can of kerosene which her father was using to rekindle the fire exploded and drenched her with the flaming fluid. John Bohan
John Bohan died Wednesday evening at the home of his brother-in-law, H. J. Johnson, of pneumonia, after an illness of less than a week at the age of 23 years.
Mr. Bohan who was riding on the range for the Wyoming Farming and Live Stock company was taken ill and rode into town last Friday. Being caught in the storm he was thoroughly soaked and upon Dr. Wells being called he found that the young man had developed a severe case of pneumonia. Prompt and active measures were adopted but it had secured so strong a hold that all efforts were unavailing and he continued to grow steadily worse passing away as stated above between six and seven o’clock Wednesday evening.
Mr. Bohan was a young man who had grown to manhood in this community, he having come here a young boy with his mother in the first days of Newcastle. He was a bright and active boy and a wide awake and energetic man, always with a host of friends among his acquaintances. He was unmarried, but leaves a sorrowing mother, four sisters and two brothers to mourn his untimely death.
The funeral took place from the Catholic church this morning at ten o’clock.

I. Carrol Jefferis, Jr.
SHERIDAN, Oct. 22. – I. Carrol Jefferis, Jr., son of I. C. Jefferis of Newcastle, died here after a brief illness of influenza. The young man was employed in a local drug store and had made his home here for the past year. He is survived by his wife. The deceased was well known in Newcastle and Cheyenne. Rev. John O’Loughlin
Rev. John O’Loughlin, Catholic pastor in Newcastle, Wyoming, died on Saturday from influenza, according to word received by Bishop P. A. McGovern of Cheyenne. He has been in the diocese of Cheyenne for three years, and was assistant at St. Mary’s cathedral here for the first year after he came here. He was a graduate of the famous theological school at Maynooth, Ireland.
Rev. O’Loughlin did excellent work in the diocese, which was highly appreciated by Bishop McGovern, and the many friends that knew him. Robert Sage
NEWCASTLE, Wyo., July 30. – Robert Sage, nine-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. W. V. Sage of Upton, died here from blood poisoning. A few days before death the child stepped on a rusty nail and infection resulted. [Wyoming State Tribune – Cheyenne State Leader (30 July 1921)- MZ - Sub by FoFG]
Mrs. John Sellers

Hannah Sullivan
Mrs. Hannah Sullivan died at New Castle on Wednesday of last week at the advanced age of 111 years, and was without doubt the oldest person in Wyoming. She was born in Ireland in 1779. [Wyoming Commonwealth (17 Aug. 1890)- MZ - Sub by FoFG]
Frances Viola Sweet
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Monday afternoon for Frances Viola Sweet, who died at her home on Stockade Beaver Creek Saturday at the age of nearly 79 years. Rev. Wm. L. Wade officated at the rites and burial was made in the Greenwood cemetery by the side of her husband.
Many beautiful floral pieces bore their silent messages of sympathy and condolences from relatives and friends. The musical selections were presented by a quartette composed of O. C. kerney, Gordon Haecox, Pansy Coates and Bernice Bettis, who sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and Beautiful Isle of Somewhere."
Casket beareres were Herbert Musgrave, Harold Mahnke, Frank Fawcett, Glenn Crawford, Clifford Schulze and Fred Fawcett.
Frances Viola Johnstone, daughter of Rev. Levi and Frances Johnstone, was born July 11, 1860 at Quaker City, Ohio, and departed this life at the home of her daughter Della, on Beaver Creek, at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 29 days. When a small child she was baptized in her fathers's church. In April 1861, the family moved to Chelsea, Iowa, where she spent her childhood. The family then moved to a farm near Norton KS, where she was married to Wesley P. Hannum in 1876. Two children were born to this union, Bessie and Junior. In 1891 she was separated from Mr. Hannum and came to Newcastle.
On March 8, 1892, she was united in marriage to Thomas P. Sweet and moved to Stockade Beaver Creek where she spent the most of her remaining years. To this union were bon three children, Stella, Fred, and Della.
Mrs. Sweet was a devoted wife and mother, a kind and helpful neighbor, always being ready to lend a helping hand to those she could aid in any way. She leaves to mourn her loss four children, Bessie Baker of Los Angeles, CA; Stella Mann, Della Bowles and Fred of Newcastle; six grand children, Earl LaFors, Clarice Steele, Floyd Sweet, Lloyd Bowles, Merriet and Darlene Mann. Three great granchildren, Paul, Betty and Robert Steele, besides several other relatives and many friends. Mr. Sweet preceded her in death in 1924.
